A new engine in an old chassis, a popular and common practice to give his beloved oldie more everyday practicality, safety and performance.
The piaggiotypical modular principle makes this procedure immensely easier, but here and there it also reaches its limits. One such limit is the use of a Vespa PK engine in a Vespa V50/50N or Primavera/ET3. The problem here is the original intake manifold of the PK XL engines.

Unfortunately it does not fit into the older V50/PV frames due to a different shape. An exchange against the original engine (V50/PV) is unfortunately not possible. The PK XL engines have an intake manifold mounting with three bolts, but the old engine types only have two.
A possible solution is to work on the frame (enlarge the existing cutout) to make it fit the angle of the manifold. To seal the whole thing with the original rubber bellows again, however, would have to invest a lot of expensive sheet metal work.

Much easier is the use of this conversion intake manifold. Here the original design of the old engines was combined with the connection plate of the modern PK XL engines with three hole mounting. Thus the PK XL engines can be taken over problem-free and without further modifications into the old Smallframe Chassis.
Must have for a conversion of a Smallframe on PK engine!
