Description
Primary gear -DRT 3.00->3.43- Vespa Smallframe
All Smallframe engines always have the same gear ratios (except three speed and automatic). A longer gear ratio is achieved ex works only by so-called primary gear ratios of different lengths. These ratios are available in numerous gear ratios. How long this ratio should be depends on the available displacement and the power delivery of the engine. In the large class (the displacements from 125 ccm) it is not necessary to extend the already standard quite long primary of the 125’er (2.54) again. Here the speed plus of the racing cylinders brings already a full speed plus in relation to the standard version. One can shorten this also with a corresponding primary wheel. Here DRT offers a possibility to shorten the straight toothed primary 3.00 again to 3.43. Only the primary wheel must be exchanged, which is suitable from the module to the primary. Additionally there are small threads in the gear to get it off the crankshaft better with a puller.
